My Celtic name – Casey – means “brave”. This is a word that friends have also used to describe me. Looking at my life, it’s not all that surprising.

I’ve been a single mom for nearly 10 years now and have dealt with (still deal with) the struggles and joys that come with that title. As a working single mom of two girls, bravery is a must. I’m a big fan of definitions, so let me share with you the definition of “brave”.

Definition of brave (noun)
braver; bravest
1:  having or showing mental or moral strength to face danger, fear, or difficulty :  having or showing courage
2:  making a fine show
3:  excellent, splendid

brave  (verb)
transitive verb
1:  to face or endure with courage
2:  obsolete :  to make showy

When you’re a single parent you learn an awful lot about yourself. You quickly learn your limitations, you learn what you’re capable of, and you learn to laugh in spite of it all. While I hope my blog is relatable regardless of relationship status, this is where I’m writing from.

I’m continuously working toward being the best I can be for my Savior, my daughters, myself, and those I come in contact with. I’m always eager to learn and grow, and I’m trying to live bravely while also encouraging bravery in those around me.
